Sometimes the demands of life can be stressful and overwhelming! Other times, we can find ourselves experiencing mental illness. Either way, it can often be very beneficial to have someone walking beside you. Please note at Love the Journey we strive to help reduce stress and meet you exactly where you are in life's journey. We have many different outpatient services available to you.
It is our belief that everyone needs someone to walk with them through difficult seasons of life. Meeting with a counselor is a great way to fill this need in your life. One of the best ways to do this is to meet with your counselor in a private individual session.
In an individual session, you will meet with your therapist alone for a one-on-one session. In these sessions, you will get an opportunity to work with the therapist towards your treatment goals. Our therapists are all trained to help with anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, and other related disorders. Our therapists are also trained to walk with you through grief counseling. Besides these needs, each of our therapists have unique backgrounds that can help with other mental health illnesses not mentioned above.
The beauty of individual counseling is that you hired us to help you meet your needs. This means that each treatment plan is tailored to you and you alone. You get to set the pace and you get to take charge of your growing/healing process. We will be with you as long as you need us and we will be here until you need us.
The best part of life is getting to spend it with your best friend. Although this is something that we all desire, if we are honest, sometimes we can find ourselves disconnected from our partner.
Sometimes the best way to work through these harder seasons of our relationships is to work with a therapist whose only goal is to see healing and restoration in your marriage or relationship.
In these situations, you and your significant other will meet with a therapist to help develop and grow your relationship with one another. The therapist will work to help you meet your individual needs and your partner's needs as they relate to one another. You will develop communication skills and conflict resolutions skills. Our hope is that you will also be able to return to the loving relationship that "we used to have" and that you will find newer and better ways to love one another.
One of the other best parts of life is getting to spend it with your family. Seeing our children grow can be some of the most rewarding experiences we ever have, but it can also be some of the most challenging. Occasionally we can find ourselves feeling disconnected from our children or other family members. Other times we may find that expectations are missed or there is just simple disobedience.
In a family counseling setting, you and your family will meet with your therapist with your family members to work towards restoration and healing within your family unit. Every family is unique as it comprises of unique individuals who have their own unique strengths and deficits. Our therapists will work with your family to pursue healing, growth, and reunification.
