Groups are one of the most effective ways of experiencing profound growth in our personal lives. Groups can be intimidating, but it is within a group that we are able to meet with others who share similar experiences. This helps us to know that we are not alone and that there are others like us. Every group is different in terms of style and purpose, because every group is made up of different people.
In the group process, the therapist works as a facilitator rather than as a counselor. Groups that Love the Journey has hosted in the past include parenting groups, grief groups, trauma groups, cognitive skills groups, anxiety/depression groups, and anger management groups.
The following class are currently being offered at Love the Journey:
Parenting the Love and Logic Way
Parenting class being offered at our Hinckley Location. This class will help parents to develop tools that allow them to better connect with their children, while also maintaining a healthy parent-child relationship. Every family has it's own needs, so this is a collaborative process where family and counselor work together to create the best possible home life.
The skills taught in Parenting the Love and Logic Way are not hard and fast rules on how to parent, but simply tools which can be employed in a variety of situations.
This course consists of 6 weekly 20-hour sessions. Participates are expected to attend all 6 sessions. If you are interested in attending, but are unsure if you will be able to make it to all of the sessions, please feel free to call and ask about options.
This class is offered free for the community. We will be accepting donations to cover the cost o material but attendees are not obligated to make any payment.
