Angela Lumbar

Angela joined LTJ this March. She is a licensed clinical psychologist (PsyD, LP) with over 20 years of experience specializing in PTSD, depression, anxiety, trauma, abuse, and play therapy with children. Having grown up and practiced in rural communities, she is passionate about serving underserved areas and providing high-quality, trauma-informed care.

Angela utilizes evidence-based approaches including relaxation, mindfulness, ART, EFT, AEDP, ACT, and incorporates DBT, CPT, and CBT techniques as needed. Her therapeutic orientation aligns most closely with Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), and she values a collaborative, individualized treatment process.

She works with individuals across the lifespan, provides play therapy, supports parent-child dynamics, and offers family and couples therapy. Angela also has experience with LGBTQ+ clients, including those navigating gender transition, as well as children and adolescents in foster care, adoption, and out-of-home placements.

Outside of work, she enjoys Minnesota lakes, boating, swimming, fishing, and gardening.
